🌿 Welcome to Empower Stitch Co
I’m Shona — a maker, a mental‑health advocate, and someone who believes that creativity can help us stitch ourselves back together. Crafting has always been my way of finding balance. Quick, joyful makes like keyrings, scrunchies, coin purses and bags give me the little dopamine sparks that help me get through the day. They’re small, simple, and full of heart — just like the moments of calm they create.
My background is in Approaches to Mental Health, and I’m now hoping to study a Masters in Art and Social Practice. The more I learn, the more certain I become of this: craft is powerful. It heals, it connects, and it gives us space to breathe.
And I want to share that with others — in a way that doesn’t demand new resources from the planet. Everything I make is created from reclaimed fabrics, giving new life to materials that already exist. Sustainable, accessible, affordable. Creativity that doesn’t cost the earth.

To keep creating, teaching, and sharing sustainable craft, I need a workspace that actually supports my wellbeing. Right now, I don’t have that.
A van — converted into a tiny, mobile studio — is the only realistic way I can build a safe, flexible, sensory‑friendly environment where I can work, travel, connect with communities, and bring sustainable crafting workshops directly to people who need them.
This isn’t about chasing an aesthetic.
It’s about accessibility.
It’s about mental health.
It’s about creating a life where I can continue to make, inspire, and support others through creativity.
